What Is Airsoft?
Airsoft:
Airsoft is a tactical sport which is objective based with several teams involved which must complete their objectives as well
as eliminate their opposing team by shooting them with an airsoft weapon.

1. Airsoft guns are highly manufactured to duplicate actual Weapons. Almost all Airsoft guns are are made 1:1 scale to the
real thing, making the sport more realistic!
2. In Airsoft you also play more scenario type games. i.e., Seek & Destroy, Assassination, Search & Rescue, Man Hunt, Etc.
(There are Hundreds of different scenarios). Most scenario games are MilSim (Military Simulation) or TacSim (Tactical
Simulation, ei. SWAT, Police, etc.)
3. The group of people who airsoft are on average are both older and more mature. Alot of Military and Law Enforcemtn
personnel are attracted to Airsoft over paintball.
4. Airsoft Is an overall less expensive sport then paintball and is by far much more exciting according to most people who have
played both Airsoft and paintball!

Airsoft guns:
Airsoft guns are 1:1 scale with real guns! They Look Exactly like the real ones (which is why a blazing orange tip is required by
State and Federal Laws). There are several types of guns:

Spring Powered guns ("Springers"):
These are the lowest cost "crappy" ones. There are both pistols and rifles. There are hundreds of different spring Pistols
averaging about $20-30 each. The Spring Rifles run about $50-120 for a good one, there are some as low as $30 but I highly
suggest NOT buying ones this cheap. With ALL spring powered airsoft guns you must manually reload it each shot! It is very
annoying! The best Brands are "HFC" and "UHC". These guns can be fun for shooting paper targets or cans at 15-30 feet (if
your lucky), but are EXTREMELY combat inefficient.

Gas Non Blow Back (NBB):
Gas non blow back (NBB). They use "Green Gas" and are are semi auto and in some cases Full-Auto! They do not have the
moving Slide like the real guns, so that is one downside. But because it doesn't have the moving slide it uses less gas. This
guns can be purchased for about $30+. These do not have to be loaded each shot, they shoot as fast as you can pull the
trigger! But are also fairly unreliable, non realistic, most Experienced Airsofters won't even buy them. These guns can be fun
for shooting paper targets or cans at upto 30 feet (if your lucky), but are EXTREMELY combat inefficient.

Gas Blow Back (GBB):
Gas blow back (GBB) are the most realistic Hand Guns available. They also use "Green Gas". They are Semi auto and in
some cases Full-Auto. You load the first shot manually, just like the real thing then shoot the rest as fast as you can pull the
trigger. These ones have the top slide blow back and put a BB into the chamber each time the gun is fired, The Slide blows
back at VERY HIGH speed where you can hardly notice with looking at it with your eyes. Gas Blow backs are the most reliable
Airsoft hand-guns around. They are water proof to some extent, they can even be submerged in water and still work like a
charm, even though they are able to do that I do not suggest doing it. The Gas Blow Back (GBB) Airsoft guns can be
purchased for any where from $40-200. It depends on the gun brand and style you buy. The best Brands are "Western Arms",
"JAC" and "KJW".

Automatic Electric Guns (AEG):
AEGs are for the real Airsofters. This guns are powered by batteries 8.4-12Volts and shoot 700-5,900 rounds per minute
(RPM). They shoot at very high speeds 280 Feet Per Second (FPS) up to over 600FPS, most Team allow only up to 400FPS
for average guns and 550FPS for Sniper Weapons. This guns can be purchased for around $200-400 depending on the
brand and style. The Best brand
s being "Tokyo Marui (TM)" and Classic Army (TM).
The AEGs are the pretty much the only Airsoft guns that can have major upgrades done. You can purchase a standard gun
that shoots at
300FPS then later get it upgraded to shoot 350FPS or 400FPS or whatever you prefer. AEGs also have the
most accessories such as scopes, lasers, grenade launchers (M203), high capacity magazines, flashlights,
ect.

Games:
With Airsoft there are three types of gaming, "MilSim", "TacSim", and "other/skirmish".
MilSim:
MilSim stands for Military Simulation. MilSim games are either based off Military Operations which have taken place,
are going to take place and or slightly modified from either of the above. Some of these games may include Operations such
as the world famous "Black Hawk Down", which been re-created in the Airsoft community several times.
Most MilSim events are done with objectives that can range from a hostage rescue to a seek & destroy operation.
TacSim:
TacSim stands for Tactical Simulation. In these games you play as Police or SWAT style. With TacSim you use Law
Enforcement ROEs (Rules Of Engagements) and scenarios that tie into the Law Enforcement world. These events are usually
done on CQC (Close Quarter Combat) field.

Other/Skirmishing:
This is just basic gaming which allows players to get out and shoot at eachother. There are no objectives other than
shoot the other guy before he shoots you.
