Parent’s FAQ’s page
In the all time I have airsofted, I have also convinced a lot of friends and family to take up the great sport of airsofting...
With that, comes convincing their parents too. Parents have come to me with all types of question about airsoft. I try to help
them as much as I can. So we have put together a questions page with answers to some of the most common questions we get
from parents. If you are thinking of taking up airsofting, we encourage you to take a look over what we have here.
And kids, if you are trying to convince your parents into allowing you to get a airsoft gun or get into airsofting, please let
them know about this page. Also, parents, if you have any other question which is not covered here, please email us and we
will get back to you ASAP!

Q: Can my kid own a airsoft gun if he is under 18?
A: Yes. California law only requires the person making the purchase be 18 years of age or older.

Q: What are the chances of my kid being hurt while playing airsoft?
A: Honestly there are a lot of risks as with any other sport. However, as long as they follow the rules, safety guidelines and use
common sense more than likely they will be fine. (I’ve been airsofting sense ‘1999 and have only seen one person get hurt
which he shook it off in a couple minutes. You should be more concerned about poison oak or how addicted they are going to
be to airsoft).

Q: Does my kid need any special training to use an airsoft gun?
A: No. However, we highly suggest teaching them basic weapon safety measures and or enroll them into NSAT’s SFP (Safety
First Program).

Q: Can I as a parent or guardian watch/spectate the game?
A: It depends on the specific game. Some AOs (Area of Operations) do not have a safe place for someone to watch from. We
do NOT allow unarmed/unprotected persons on the field for any reason! We do discourage people watching at any time.

Q: How can I help keep my kid safe?
A: There are MANY different ways for a parent to help!
1. Make sure your kid does NOT remove the orange marking from the airsoft gun.
2. Make sure the never take an airsoft weapon to school for ANY REASON!!!
3. Make sure they don’t use an airsoft weapon in a public place. Schools, parks, streets, anywhere that a civilian can see them.
4. Have them buy a airsoft gun case/bag.
5. Make sure they know your concerns and opinions about airsoft. Set rules (such as the ones above), etc.
6. Enroll them into the NSAT SFP.

Q: Ive heard “horror” stories of people being shot in the face, what really happens?
A: At our games, as well as any organized event, eye protection is required at all times. Eye protection will eliminate any
chance of a BB hitting the eyes. Teeth have sometimes been shot, yes, it hurts, if you don’t like it, wear a full face mask.

Q: How old should my kid be?
A: Hard question. This is a case-by-case scenario. I’ve seen 14 year olds more mature than a few 35 year olds. But keep in
mind, most fields or organizations require players to be 14 years of age or older.
