| NSATASOG - Operation History |
| Operation: Ia Drang When: Nov. 12-13th '2005 Location: Los Padres National Forest - Naciemento Camp! Type: MilSim - Reenactment! Roster Check: 19-22 OP: Ia Drang started off with a little bit of a drive to the AO, which was a little long for some. We had about 19-22 people show up out of the 30 people who registered. The Operation started off with the ARVN trying to cut off the US Forces LZ and prevent any more troops from landing, which in this case worked out for the ARVN. Later in the night the NVA & US Forces went head to head and both took heavy losses. Early Sun. Morning, troops were deployed and had the final stand off where the US Forces took too many losses to come out on top this time. The AO was better than we could have ever asked for with a small river, trees, a road, rocks, and hills. Everyone had a great time (Especially BlackOps). We might even turn this one into an annual event! (However, we will hold it in the summer, 'cause it was a bit chilly, well freezing to be more exact). |
