Operation: Solid Fortress May 27, 2006
Background: In the northern province of Iraq lies The Hussein Fortress. This formidable structure is a rally point for nearly 95% of all insurgent action in Iraq. A great many operations and attacks have been organized and supplied through The Hussein Fortress, many U.S. and ally lives have been lost because of it also. The Hussein Fortress is a strategic point for the insurgency that plagues are soldiers. Not only is this place a fortified safe haven for all who hope to bring down the U.S. Military in Iraq, it boasts one of the largest non-military weapons caches in the country. A well camouflaged structure very little is known about the inside and what Intel it might hold. Its’ weapons stores house enough ammo and weapons to keep the American blood flowing for years in the deserts of Iraq! Through large cash incentives and promises, Iraqi Nationals have finally disclosed its’ general location. The U.S. Military Command has decided to send in ground units to take control and destroy The Hussein Fortress and its’ weapons cache. Upon airdrop into the LZ, the Rangers will locate the fortress, recon the area, report all information gathered back to U.S. Military Command. Once confirmation is given the Rangers will overrun the fortress, sanitizing or capturing all persons in or around the fortress in the process. The Rangers will also need to destroy all weapons and ammo inside the fortress, then finally plant and detonate large explosive charges to collapse The Hussein Fortress. Any Insurgent personnel capture will be brought back for interrogation for intelligence for future missions in the area.
After many hours of fighting, the US Forces completed their objectives and came out with a Victory!
